Hey, MFI fam!
Stewarding A Unified Worship Community
Back to the Garden - Gen 1:28 - Be FRUITFUL and MULTIPLY
Not about numbers, but about building a FAMILY
FRUITFUL
Requires community - we cannot be fruitful alone
“Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity!
It is like the precious oil on the head,
running down on the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!
It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion!
For there the Lord has commanded the blessing,
life forevermore.” (Psalm 133:1-3 ESV - emphasis mine)
The unity is linked with the anointing & blessing
Personal fruitfulness requires stewarding the seed - the Word
Measure yourself and your community not by the fruit of numbers, or response, or applause, but by the fruit of the SPIRIT:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” (Galatians 5:22-24 ESV - emphasis mine)
Crucify the diva - start with your own ego, then lead your team with accountability
Remember that worship is SERVICE
Honoring ALL parts of the body
“The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.” (1 Corinthians 12:21-25 ESV - emphasis mine)
Excellence flows from trust and purity, not competition or pride
Sometimes division is caused by confusion - lead with great communication!
Do not tolerate rotten fruit / division. Prune & correct in love. (Titus 3)
